About Us

Hingetown Culture Works aims to strengthen community ties, creatively address local issues, and instill a sense of collective ownership in the Hingetown area of Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood, among representatives from multiple sectors: businesses, residents, developers, city government, and nonprofit organizations.

History

Hingetown Culture Works was spearheaded by SPACES in 2017 when the organization relocated to W. 29th Street & Detroit Avenue. While there was already cultural activity taking place organically, it was suggested that we formalized a process for collectively producing free, large-scale arts programming, as well as supporting each other’s individual efforts.
